East Belleville YMCA Programs

Swimming Lessons:
Mommy and Me class beginning at 6 months of age and up. Ages 6 mo – 3 yrs. adult gets in pool with child.
Mondays 1 – 1:45 pm
Fridays 3 - 3:45 pm
Cost: Members $35, $22 for each additional family member Non-Members $55, $35 for each additional family member
First session: Week of Jan. 7 for 7 weeks
Second session: Week of Feb 25 for 7 weeks
Third Session - Week of April 14 for 7 weeks - REGISTER AT THE Y THE WEEK OF MARCH 24!!!!

General PE*- play a variety of sports, games and activities. Ages 4 – 10. THIS CLASS IS CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO LACK OF ENOUGH PARTICIPANTS.
Mondays 2 – 2:50 pm
Same session dates as above; however second session will change to soccer skills and third session will change to baseball, softball, t-ball skills.
Cost: Members $30, Non-Members $40, $5 off for each additional family member

*These classes will be open to two other homeschool groups, Egdemont Bible Church Group and Metro East Catholic Educators, in order to have more participation so that the older children can more easily be taught on their skill level.

Please register at the Y for the above activities during the designated week. These are all pending enough enrollment, please register so we are not forced to cancel a class!!!
You will need to bring your SCCCHE card when you register.
You can be a member at any area Y to get the member rate.
Please follow the guidelines for registration including registering within the time frame listed. It is imperative so that the Y can have the appropriate number of instructors available. We also risk program cancellation if not enough have registered.

U.S. Ice Sports Complex

Ice Skating at US Ice Sports Complex Ages 2 and up
Tuesdays from 2:15 - 2:45 - Learn to skate class, skaters will be able to free skate until 4:15.
$96 for 7 week session, 10% off for each additional child in same family, beginning Jan. 8. Skate rental fee is waived; however there is an annual USFA membership fee of $7.50 per participant.

Please wear layered clothing and nylon pants - the students fall down a lot the first few sessions and you do not want them getting in the car all wet.  Wear gloves and if you would like to bring a bicycle helmet for younger students you can.


World Class Gymnastics
World Class Gymnastics, now located in the Family Sportsplex, 277-4555
Gymnastics:
World Class Gymnastics is offering:
Kindergym (3 – 5 years, must be potty trained)
Girl's and Boy's Gymnastics (6 – 18 years) and a
Men's Strength and Power Class (12 – 18 years) ALL on Thursdays 2:30 - 3:30 pm.
5 week sessions, beginning March 20- CALL NOW TO REGISTER
Costs include:
Annual Registration Fee - $25 for an individual and $40 for a family.
Cost per session is: 1st athlete - $51.25,  2nd athlete - $46.13; Each additional - $41.01
**Please pre-enroll so so that we are not forced to cancel due to lack of interest. This class will be open to other area home schoolers.

St. Clair Bowl

Bowling:
St. Clair Bowl
Mondays 2 – 3 pm beginning Sept. 11th.
Cost: One child = $3; 2 children = $5; 3 children = $7; 4 children = $9 per week which includes 2 games and shoes. You only pay if you come. No sign up is required, but there must be one adult who collects the money and turns it in at the counter each week. If you plan on being a regular and would like to serve in this capacity, please let me know. Otherwise we will need one parent to take charge each week. Please be willing to assist in this capacity, since they are giving us such a nice rate.


Other PE Activities

Basketball:
Open gym time is offered to 6 - 10th graders (going into those grades in fall 2008) who are interested in participating in First Baptist Academy's basketball team in the 2008-09 school year. The clinic his held on Thursdays from 4 - 5 pm through  May and then it will meet from 3 - 4 pm. If you are interested in participating , please contact the Kelly Kohring.

Tennis Lessons: St. Clair Tennis
Private and group lessons are being offered by Mark Bruner. These will be scheduled at the participants convenience and we can group together to cut down on the cost. Please contact me for more info. Participants can be as young as 4 years of age. Once we have identified interested families, I will need an adult to coordinate with the others families they are grouped with to determine a day and time.

Archery: Town Hall Archery
Fridays, 3:30 - 4:30 pm for 6 weeks beginning October 19. Class will not meet Thanksgiving week. Ages are 8 and up. The cost is $30. Please do not wear bulky sweatshirts and sweaters.

Collinsville YMCA & TimBuckTo Archery: Gym Class & Archery on alternating Tuesdays
The Collinsville YMCA will be offering gym class and TimBuckTo in Maryville will be offering archery for 12 year olds and up on Tuesday afternoons for $6 per week.

Christian Skate Night: Fun Spot
The event takes place on the first Monday of each month from October – April from 7 – 9 pm. If you mention you are a SCCCHE member they will give you $1 off the admission price of $4.50. It costs $2 to rent skates if you need them.

Play Day at the Park - Coming Spring 2008, Noon to ?????? – Gather at O’Fallon Community Park on Highway 50. Bring a picnic lunch if you would like or just come to play and fellowship while getting to know other homeschooling families. Feel free to bring your own games and sports equipment. All children must have a responsible adult with them. This park has two playgrounds, several pavilions, tennis and basketball courts. This is a very informal event, come at the last minute if you can fit it into your day!

SCCCHE Family Fun Night,    Coming in 2008    6 - 9 pm   East Belleville YMCA
We will be able to use of the entire facility during a very non-peak time. We usually swim for awhile and then have open gym time after snacking on what you bring to share!! YMCA members will get in free, but non-members will get in for $3 per person not to exceed $15 per family. We will be able to have an area for snacks in the lobby and use of the entire facility. What a great time to get to know new members and develop friendships. Please have a responsible adult present for your children.
