LEGISLATIVE DAY (Cherry Pie Day)
Each year the Illinois Christian Home Educators hosts Legislative Days in
Springfield. Part of this program involves giving a cherry pie to each of our
legislators as an act of gratitude for their work, for making home education
so easy here in Illinois, and to let them know that we are voters who are
watching them. SCCCHE traditionally provides a large number of pies for
this event. Last year we provided over 120 pies (more than all the rest if IL)

The carnival is a fun event for the whole family. Food, games, prizes,
bounce houses, popcorn, cotton candy, sno-cones, carriage rides,
petting zoo, face painting, volleyball, disc golf, ultimate frisbee, and
other fun events, all free (except for the food, which supports the
scouting troops). It's usually the first week in June.
Ultimate Frisbee games are often led by various people.
Joseph Phillips organizes a summer pick-up league.
Titus 2 in the Bible encourages women to help each other in their walks of life.
Coffee Talks is just that--women sharing with women what they've learned. We
meet together periodically and use this page to continue that discussion and
share upcoming events.
