The Google Group is an email list

where you can send and receive emails

to/from everyone in the group at once.

 

You can edit the settings to receive

each email as it's sent,

or a daily digest,

or a certain number at a time.

You can even unsubscribe,

but since this is the main form of communication within the group,

that is not advised.
