TLC co-op

 

Our co-op is called TLC (The Limited Co-op).  It's held at Garden City Church on Greenmount Rd.  Classes are on Fridays from 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM, and run for 10 weeks in the Spring and 10 weeks in the Fall.

There are 4 hours of classes: 8:45, 9:45, 10:45, and 12:00.

Classes in the past have been: history, science, math, languages, art, music lessons, music theory, choir, orchestra, drama, book studies, chess, robotics, Teenpact, Youth on a Mission, cooking, knitting, teacher's lounge, study hall, nursery, Historical Conquest, Kingdom Fit, Succulents and Ceramics, Colonial America, How to be God's Princess, Lemonade and Tales, Wonders of Light, etc.

There is no charge for TLC, but there are costs to attend individual classes, anywhere from $0 to $60, but the average is around $25.

TLC has its own website and registration, but you must be a member of SCCCHE in order to participate.

While TLC does not require parents to lead or assist with classes in order to have their students participate, we strongly encourage it. TLC offers a staged registration process in which classroom lead teachers receive priority registration, followed by secondary registration for volunteers (dedicated classroom proctors, hall monitors, check-in desk monitors, set-up crew, clean-up crew), after which general registration will be open, however by then many classes may be full.

Please note that teachers are parent-volunteers and are not trained to accommodate children with special needs or behavioral disorders.  Please communicate with the teacher and Educational Coordinator about your child's needs.
